The impact of steel ball surface
defects on bearing performance
Cracks, scratches, rust,
dents, etc. exposed on the steel ball surface due to unloading processing, rust
corrosion or raw materials are collectively called surface defects. Steel balls
are not allowed to have surface defects. Because the surface defects of the
steel ball will stimulate the bearing pulse-shaped vibration, causing vibration
and noise when the bearing rotates. The pulse period is inversely proportional
to the bearing speed and the amplitude is related to the size of the defect.
The larger the surface defect of the steel ball, the higher the vibration value
of the bearing.
