316L stainless steel has lower carbon content than 316 stainless steel and slightly higher molybdenum content than 316 stainless steel. Due to the addition of 2%-3% Mo element, it has good heat resistance and corrosion resistance, and can be used intermittently below 1600 degrees and continuous use below 700 degrees.
