1. Advantages
l Metal bearing is easy to process, so the cost is low.
2. Disadvantages
l Metal bearing life time is short. Full ceramic bearing life time is
10-50 times longer than metal bearing. Mixed ceramic bearing life time is 3-5
times longer than metal bearing.
l Metal bearing need more lubrication than ceramic bearing. Under the
circumstance of lubrication, ceramic bearing still has good performance.
l Metal bearing has lower rigidity than ceramic bearing. Ceramic
bearing’s rigidity is 15-20% higher than metal bearing.
l Metal bearing has lower abrasive performance than ceramic bearing.
This is decided by material itself.
